BMW representative Florian Moser confirmed that the last X4 rolled off the production line in November 2025.
The reason for its departure: the new, larger BMW X2 superseded it in the lineup, narrowing the gap in size and price — and demand for niche coupe-crossovers has softened as the market shifted toward more practical formats.
A reminder: the X4 debuted in 2015, the second generation (G02) arrived in 2019 — and just 10 years later the model has been officially removed from BMW's lineup. Custom orders are already closed, though existing stock and used examples can still be found.
Worth noting: this is one of the last models in the brand's lineup with a conventional combustion engine. From here, BMW moves toward electric vehicles and new formats.
The successor will be the fully electric BMW iX4, built on the Neue Klasse platform. BMW promises interior space on par with the X4/X6, but with the usual coupe trade-offs:
— less rear headroom
— a noticeably smaller trunk than the iX3 (the electric SUV unveiled in autumn 2025)
The premiere is expected in the second half of 2026, with series production launching in November at the plant in Debrecen, Hungary. In the meantime, the BMW X2 will temporarily fill the junior coupe-crossover slot.
